Elevated elegance with Polène
Happy 2021 – Hope it’s off to a great start!
With the Holiday Season over, and Spring still miles away, I find this a good time to hibernate – and refocus. One of the ways I like to do it is by revisiting my closet as a mini closet edit/review to make a list of all the items that are missing for the coming Season. I like to keep my wardrobe both current and classic, and as I’m re-curating my outfits, I like to make note of any accessories that would be great additions to spark more joy out of my existing pieces.
In case you wanted to do your own mini review, I wanted to share about one recent brand discovery – their designs are a great way to bring inspiration to your outfits for the coming Spring and Summer – Polène.
I’ve been admiring Polène bags on many influencer/blogger pages, and truly fell in love with their classic silhouettes, elegant lines and neutral yet feminine colors. It was a really tough choice to select a favorite as I liked so many, but I finally settled on the Number One Mini in “Sand” as my first purchase from their collection.
If you’re unfamiliar with Polène, it’s a relatively young brand on the market (neé 2016), founded by 2 brothers and a sister; and is based in Paris. “Inspired by the work of designers such as Madeleine Vionnet, Mariano Fortuny and Madam Grès, folds were incorporated into the collections, thus enhancing the leather’s malleability and strengthening the sculptural aspect of the designs.”- I think this quote from their website explains nicely what makes their designs feel both practical and luxury. Their bags have a classic French “je ne sais quoi” – in a mix of feminine & clean details.
For my recent pre-holiday photo shoot last month, I styled my new bag with one my favorite dresses by Zimmermann & gold earrings from Sézane (another French brand I LOVE) – and I can’t wait to style it in many more looks for Spring and Summer, stay tuned!
